We hope that you and your family have enjoyed the Christmas break. The next term is jam-packed with fun learning opportunities. Here you will find all the important information for this term.
Miss Griggs and Mrs Heffernan
SATS meetings will take place on Tuesday 9th January.
You can book your 5 minute appointment using our online parents evening system. This is an important meeting and provides you with an opportunity to discuss progress your child’s progress with Miss Griggs. There will be 5 minute slots throughout the day. This was a successful strategy last year. Here is the timetable for 2018 SATS.
From Monday 8th January, children are invited to come in to start the school day at 8:25. This will give the children an opportunity to focus on gaps which have been identified in recent assessments and consolidate learning from lessons.
Every week, the children will bring home a folder with a weekly home learning sheet.
The weekly spellings will include both spelling patterns and individual wordlist words. It is important that children go back over and continue to practice any words which they have got incorrect.
Symphony Online Maths
The children will also need to complete 30 minutes on Maths Symphony. If this is not completed at home, there is an option of completing this at school.

War Horse Fundraising
We are pleased to announce that we have raised a total of £460 towards our trip to War Horse. The children have worked incredibly hard with all our fundraising events. You will receive a letter shortly about the arrangements for the day.
Children are expected to be read daily at home and record this on the weekly home learning sheet. They can choose from the reading menu. We have already seen super progress with reading on our Accelerated Reader programme.

PE will be on a Tuesday and Wednesday. Please ensure your child has an appropriate PE kit in school all week. This should include: a plain coloured or white house t–shirt, shorts and trainers or plimsolls. During the winter months it should contain a separate jumper and jogging bottoms for use in colder weather.
