Dear Parents,

We hope that you and your family have enjoyed the summer break.  It has been a pleasure to welcome the children back to School, and into Planets Class, and they are settling in really well.   We are very excited to be teaching year 5 and we are sure that the children will rise to the challenges that being in Upper Key-Stage 2 brings!  Mrs Moore and Mrs Norton will be the TAs in our class this year.

Our Topic for this term is Ancient Greece.   We plan on having a Greek Day, on Thursday 14th September, where we will have the opportunity to dress up, try Greek foods and lots more; a separate letter has gone home about this.

In this termly letter you will find all the important information for this term. Please do not hesitate to book an  appointment if you wish to come in and discuss anything further.   We look forward to working with you this year.

Mrs Single and Ms Hall

Children are expected to read daily at home (choosing from the reading menu on the homework sheet) and record this on the weekly home learning sheet.

Home Learning

Every week, the children will bring home a folder with a weekly home learning sheet.

The weekly spellings will include both spelling  patterns and individual wordlist words.

Children will be asked to complete one page in a Maths book weekly to support consolidation of the learning they have completed in their lessons.

Symphony Online Maths

The children will also need to complete 30 minutes on Maths Symphony. Log in details will be sent home in due course.
