Another jam packed day!

What a jam packed day Year 5 have had!! From muddy obstacles to high rope adventures, canoeing to rock climbing!

Caspian was such a wonderful friend and partner today during Group 1’s high rope adventures, giving a helping hand to Dominic, successfully the boys managed to work together on Jacob’s Ladder.

Monty T was another ‘high flyer’ giving the Leap of Faith a terrific attempt, reaching the top platform.

The rest of Group 1 were so supportive to those who were conquering their fear, with them even chanting ” We RAP, we RAP” and then explaining to our instructor, Jess, our key values at Hellingly. This was such a pleasure to see and shows how our values of respect, achievement and perseverance can be put into practice in whatever situation.

While canoeing, Josh, Bayly and Charlie showed a great sense of humour after they capsized their canoe and had to paddle to the shore! All three came out with a huge smile on their faces and jumped straight back into their canoe!

Jess R, Rhianna and Hannah D were fearless when rock climbing, racing to the top and Jasmine enjoyed a muddy ‘bath’ during the obstacle course!

Lillie was the first member of Group 3 to successfully grab the bar in the ‘Leap of Faith’ with total confidence, she flew through the air with pure determination and perseverance!

Tallen, Daniel and Monty N started off canoeing with all three of them paddling in different directions, shouting at each other and even going on ‘strike’!! By the end of the canoeing session, all three were paddling in unison and could be potential canoeing athletes of the future! What a turn around and what a team!
All of Group 3 enjoyed a quick dip in the water before heading back to camp.

  1. The canoeing was fun. Charlie, Bailey and Sam capsized in it when we were playing a game. Then we got our paddles and we played a game with our paddles. We dropped our paddles in the water and they popped out of the water. Can I go back to Hindleap! It was a really great experience. I really enjoyed it. Thank you teachers for booking Hindleap we all enjoyed it. I think we all want to go again. Year 5 have learned something about Hindleap! Thank you once again thank you teachers for a lovely experience in Year 5.

  2. When I was on the top of leap of faith it shook in the wind and made me fall off!
